CODE OF ETHICS

PEAMBLE

As an organization we therefore agree to adhere to this code of ethics.

AIDSS is subject to skills and leadership drain and constantly shifting relations with governance institutions and meeting donor requirements. The need for an effective platform to promote NGO management to remain focused on our locally inspired poverty reduction initiative rather than being dominated by donor-determined agenda has never been greater.

Under these conditions the Asalam Institute of Da’awa and Security Studies (AIDSS) the organization that promotes social services working in the three regions and Ghana as a whole needs to be strengthened to play its role more efficiently.

One of the means of which the AIDSS can be strengthened is for us to agree on a code of conduct that will guide the performance of individual members as well as make each member derived the maximum benefit of belonging to the AIDSS, in designing and adopting a code of conduct the member of the AIDSS are affirming the recognition of the need for self-regulation. At the same time, we are demonstrating our ability and maturity at self-regulation.

By this, we will be setting an example for others sectors and put pressure on our society in general and especially in the public sphere to recognize us as a choheret group with a common purpose of understanding. At the same time, we are demonstrating that we are prepared to face the critical challenges of the proposed NGO bill that is being finalized.

We of the AIDSS in Tamale one of the three Northern Regions of Northern Ghana:

Conscious of the problem of hunger, poor health, high infant mortality, malnutrition, unemployment, low income and high illiteracy rate, and the state of poverty in our communities and:

Having resolved to establish an AIDSS in northern Ghana to realize our aim and objectives do here adopt and accept for ourselves THIS CODE OF ETHICS

Aware of our potential and need for community-based development programs;

Desirous of serving our communities through locally established development-oriented initiatives and institutions:

Conscious of our need for institutional capacity building and to integrate and coordinate our activities and
